- The Project for Attorney Retention issued its 2010 list recognizing law firms committed to advancing women lawyers. S&C was listed as one of the best law firms for making significant advances in retaining and promoting women lawyers.
- S&C has once again earned the top rating with a score of 100 percent in the 2010 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and Best Places to Work Survey. This annual survey, conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, rates major U.S. businesses on their treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.
- In its July 2009 issue, The American Lawyer published its seventh annual A-List, which is considered to be AmLaw’s most prestigious honor. S&C once again earned a place among “the nation's elite law firms – those that are best at balancing a thriving business with their obligations to the profession.” The A-List comprises the top 20 U.S. law firms measured by their performance in four distinct areas: financial performance, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction and diversity among lawyers.
- S&C was selected by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC as one of the 2008 Best Law Firms for Women in the United States. The award reflects S&C's leadership and commitment in creating a beneficial work-life balance for attorneys.
- In 2008 and 2009 MultiCultural Law magazine recognized S&C's diversity programs in its annual ranking of law firms. S&C was listed among the top 100 law firms for diversity, top 100 law firms for women and as one of the top 50 law firms for diverse associates.
- In 2008, 2009 and 2010 S&C was ranked by Vault as one of the “Best 20 Law Firms for LGBT Diversity”
- S&C was named to the Dave Thomas Foundation's 2007, 2008 and 2009 lists of the "Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces." In 2009, for the second year in a row, S&C was ranked first in the Consulting, Accounting, Legal and Business Services category. S&C was one of only two law firms to have received this recognition in 2009.
- S&C Partner Bill Snipes was honored by the New York Metropolitan Black Bar Association as "Lawyer of the Year" at the association's 25th anniversary gala in May 2009. He was recognized for his work with the Pipeline Crisis/Winning Strategies Initiative, an initiative to help reverse the rising rates of school drop outs, joblessness and incarceration among young black men, and to increase their representation in the pipeline to higher education. He was also honored at New York Urban League's 45th Annual Frederick Douglass Awards Dinner and received a Frederick Douglass Medallion for his efforts in developing this initiative.
- S&C Partner Sergio Galvis was recognized by The National Law Journal as one of "The 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America" in May 2008. He was also selected as among "The 100 Most Influential U.S. Hispanics, 2008" by HispanicBusiness magazine.
